The Rochester Cemetery dates back to the 1830s and contains the graves of some of the area's earliest settlers. It is also one of Iowa’s few remaining original prairie remnants. An oak savanna and diverse prairie are home to more than 300 native plant species, including uncommon ones like Spider Milkweed, Prairie Willow, and Wild Quinine. This event is open to Wild Ones Cedar Rapids Iowa City Chapter members.
Recent visitors have said:
“This is one of the most beautiful places in Iowa, in all seasons, lovingly maintained and preserved.”
“The wildflower show is beyond compare spring, summer, and fall. The large oaks are magical.”
